Thursday! Aug 14 2003 // 10:30 am // Quartz SphinxBrought to you by Kaleidoscope Tonight I’m going to a rehearsal. The first rehearsal - for anything - I will have been to in nearly six months. I planned on practicing every day, after Saturday’s sore finger incident. I’ll bet you’re all clammy with anticipation to find out if I have carried out my plans. Clam no more, my friends. Survey says: Ray hasn’t even opened the mandolin case since closing it after the show Saturday night. What does this mean for my poor little fingers? Pain! Painful pain, which will probably lead to lack of focus during the rehearsal tonight, much like it did Saturday night. I’ll bet you’re also all clammy with anticipation to find out what exactly I’m rehearsing for. Again, throw those clams out with the bath water. I’m playing with the (Richard Nickel) transaction Ensemble, Saturday, August 30, at Elastic Revolution Productions, 3030 W. Cortland. I see you clamming up again thinking about the possible all-star lineup, so I’ll divulge that information right now. Last I heard, these are the people and their weapons of choice: Allison Stanley - drum set There are many people on this list that I’ve never played with before, so that should be exciting. Some of them I’ve seen play, and I’m a little nervous that I may be unqualified to sit on the same stage with them. Especially on the mandolin. Others of them, I’ve never even met, or heard of. I hope they’re nice, and won’t hit me too hard when I mess up. Rumor has it my family will be in town that weekend, allowing them to attend their first show in two years. First show of mine, that is. I think they went to some Celtic festival a few weeks ago, so they’ve been to shows. Probably more shows than I know about. They’re probably playing shows themselves, and not telling me.
